Writing songs that flow from a life of worship

We’re on a mission to help as many churches as possible sing original music. We’re cultivating the heart and craft of the worship writer, coaching leaders, and writing songs through our co-songwriting and production process.

There are many reasons you might want to write an original worship song, but the best reason is that this is what God already desires.

Psalm 40:3 ESV says, “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.”

When worship songs begin with an open heart in the place of prayer, they can be carried forward with humble honesty. The songs that we carry in our souls are gifts from God that help us respond to God in worship. They’re written for a place, a people, a time, and a purpose. Original worship songs are the genuine work of God, and we want to steward them with care.

We know that the worship music industry can reshape what is required of a worship song, and that these demands can often turn our attention away from the purity of worship. For some, this means a never-ending battle to resist the temptation to perform for attention, impress for affirmation, and sell for success. For others, this means worship songwriting stops being an option completely.

Living Liturgy is about extending the invitation for the worship songwriter who feels out of place in the music industry and at home in the throne room of God. It’s about supporting the songwriter who writes to express true theology before captivating an audience. We’re making room for worship songs to be humble offerings. We’re affirming the biblical call of the worship writer. And we’re supporting the local church in their original songwriting

Living Liturgy helps you write original worship songs, but not for the sake of commercial success, audience appeal, or artistic fame. We’re here to create a space for you to be shaped by God as you respond in worship.

So the songs we write aren’t just about reaching the masses or sounding good on a record, but proclaiming the gospel, serving our churches, and honoring Christ.

Listen to what we're writing

This means the process of worship songwriting starts with listening intentionally, noticing deeply, and responding faithfully.

We gather worship songwriters to be deeply formed by God in a creative community.

Here’s How We Do This

Every practice, resource, and collaboration is anchored in our theology of worship and worship songwriting. We move at God’s pace, not at the schedule of our agendas, and let his Word and Spirit shape us into the kinds of worshippers and creatives who notice where he’s leading and respond with a whole heart.
